Important information
WP Toolkit only backs up the selected WordPress site.
Prerequisites
Before you start, make sure:
You have access to cPanel
You have at least one WordPress installation in WP Toolkit
Step 1: Log in to cPanel
If your hosting service supports cPanel, you can log in directly from the landing page in the client area.
This is how you do it:
Find your hosting service in the list of active products/services
Click on the button "Log in to cPanel"
You are automatically logged into cPanel without having to enter your username or password again.
Step 2: Create a backup
Go to WordPress Management in cPanel.
Find the WordPress installation you want to back up, and click Back Up / Restore.
Click on Back Up to create a new backup.
When the backup is complete, the backup appears in the list of available backups.
đĄ Tip: Easily create a new backup before updating WordPress, install new extensions or make bigger changes to the site, in case something goes wrong.
Step 3: Recover a Backup
If you need to restore the site to an earlier version, you can use an existing backup.
This is how you do it:
Go to WordPress Management in cPanel
Click Backup / Recovery on the Site You Wish to Recover:
Find the backup you want to use:
Click the Restore icon next to the backup:
Click Restore to confirm:
WP Toolkit will now restore the site to the condition it had when the backup was created.
â ď¸ All changes made after the time of the backup will be overwritten. We therefore recommend that you create a new backup of the current website before starting your recovery.
When the recovery is complete, a message will appear in the bottom right corner of the WP Toolkit confirming this:
